We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and culturally responsive Community Coordinator to join our Bowel Screening Programme team at Counties Manukau.
In this role, you will :
Promote and educate communities about bowel screening
Engage directly with Maaori, Pacific, and other priority populations to encourage participation
Support participants and whaanau to complete screening tests and attend follow-up appointments
Work with community groups, marae, churches, and general practices to deliver outreach and education
Help remove barriers to care, including organising transport and providing culturally appropriate support
Build strong relationships with health professionals, community providers, and local organisations
About you :
Relevant Health or Community Health Worker qualificationAble to converse in Te Reo Maaori, a Pasifika language, or a Southeast Asian language
23 years experience in public health, community health, or primary care setting
Experience working with Maaori or Pacifika communities
Able to converse in Te Reo Maaori, a Pasifika language, or a Southeast Asian language
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Understanding of Tikanga Maaori and Maaori protocols
Intermediate computer skills and accuracy in data entry
Full New Zealand drivers licence
