Overview

As a Chef at Strata Lounge, Auckland Airport, you'll prepare, cook, and present high-quality food that exceeds customer expectations.

You'll work closely with the Head Chef and team to maintain kitchen standards, manage supplies, and contribute to a memorable lounge experience for guests.

This is a Casual position where hours of work are on an "as and when" required basis upon business needs.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items including meat, seafood, vegetables, and plated dishes.

Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, including cleaning and waste handling.

Receive, store, and rotate supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.

Develop menus to meet dietary and cultural needs, and apply catering control principles.

Coach team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing kitchen team.

Qualifications & Requirements

NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent trade qualification.

Experience cooking in a similar hospitality or lounge environment.

Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Flexible, reliable, and physically fit with a positive attitude.

NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) and Police Clearance preferred.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
