- We have an exciting opportunity for a casual RegisteredNurse to join the team in the Haematology Day Stay.This fast-paced challenging environment will offer youvariety in your day.You will be responsible for : looking after a cohort ofpatients with a haematological diagnosis having treatments includingchemotherapy and immunotherapy, infusions of various blood products andsupporting the patients with diagnostic treatments.Shifts offered are between Monday and Friday, start times

About the ServiceThe Haematology Day Unit specialises in the care and supportof medical patients from a variety of specialties, with approximately 50% beingHaematology.While the unit is primarily now an infusion centre we also providepre and post care for some of our patients who are having procedures.
About YouWe are looking for a nurse with great assessment skills, timemanagement and communication.Haematology or Oncology experience would be an advantagehowever the successful candidate will be supported through the chemotherapycredentialing process as part of orientation.Good IV skills and experience with CVAD management, cannulation and cytotoxic management preferred but not essentialStrong communication and interpersonal skillsA high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their familiesA good use of initiative and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management skills and a willingness to learnCommitted to providing a consistently high standard of patient careRegistered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.We embrace a workforce thatis diverse and inclusive so that we are better positioned to understand andservice our community
