OverviewJoin to apply for the Principal Designer - Roads & Highways role at SMEC.Based in Auckland, this permanent role leads civil engineering design for transport projects, specialising in Roads & Open Roads & 12D modelling.ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development and production of drawings across transport civil infrastructure projects.Lead for providing civil engineering solutions to projects / clients, ensuring outputs meet high standards within time and cost budgets and client expectations.Undertake varied design tasks relating to major transport infrastructure projects with varying scope and complexity.Apply civil design principles and utilise specialist drafting software such as 12D and Open Roads modelling for the preparation of drawings.Ideal Candidate / Qualifications10+ years' experience in a similar role mentoring and managing project teamsKnowledge and skills in Civil Infrastructure and CAD technologies (AutoCAD, 12D, 3D modelling, Microstation, Open Roads)Familiar with NZ RMA legislationClear and effective communication skillsProblem solving and analytic skillsAbility to apply theoretical concepts to analyse and interpret informationExperience in the production of design documentation to Transport Authority Standards (TMR) from concept stage to constructionWhat We Offer / About SMECSMEC provides opportunities to work on iconic industry projects with experienced colleagues and leadership teams.
