The Food Production & Optimisation Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the kitchen by optimising workflows, production schedules, and resource utilisation.
This role involves taking ownership of planning, directing, and coordinating all kitchen production activities, with a focus on driving operational efficiencies, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets.
As the central figure in the production process, the Food Production & Optimisation Manager determines what to make and when, ensuring resources, labour, and materials are managed strategically to meet operational goals and customer demands.
You will have a background of in-depth process manufacturing of some complexity, demonstrating the ability to build an effective, dynamic customer centric environment.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning or a similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
At least 2 years in a managerial position where you have been able to take a strategic overview, but also worked alongside your teams to enable required outcomes and performance
Proven track record in workflow optimisation, inventory control and cost management
Exposure to menu development and product costing
Demonstrated thorough understanding and achievements of health and food safety compliance requirements
Bonus if you hold Lean Six Sigma or Process Improvement Certification, Project Management Certification (PRINCE2, PMP), Health and Safety Certification (Site Safe, HACCP) and a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production Management, or a related field would be advantageous
