You will improve plant efficiencies, schedule adherence, quality, safety, and environmental performance to improve business profitability and our relationships with internal and external customers.ResponsibilitiesRun a safe and compliant plant that complies with local legislation and PPG Requirements.Manage area capacity, costs, and service for the best benefit of the site and the PPG business units serviced by the area.Manage payroll process for wage employees through a clock-in system.Sponsor and guide the implementation of continuous improvement projects, especially capitalizing on Lean Process techniques (e.g. 5S).

Sustain and further develop a performance culture throughout the production area with all employees through communication processes, use of Performance and Learning tools, negotiation and consultation on Trade Union Agreements, and effective cross-functional team working.Build cross-functional relationships and team working to enhance performance, especially alongside the manufacturing, engineering, EH&S, supply, planning, sales, marketing, and technical areas.Ensure active leadership in PPG policy and practice, in EHS, business conduct, ethics, and quality.Ensure the production area is compliant with Company and legislative EH&S regulations and maintains ISO9001 and other accreditations within the PPG guidelines.Maintain plant cleanliness following safety and PPG best practice requirements.Ensure the production outputs meet or exceed targets on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.Ensure production area is managed in a cost-effective and efficient manner while working to a budget.Effectively communicate business goals, functional alignment, and performance against these measures.Manage the day-to-day relationships with management, employees, and trade union representatives.QualificationsTertiary qualification in a related discipline.Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial / production-based roles in leadership positions.Demonstrated change management experience both in manufacturing projects and cultural change.Experience with lean initiatives including 5S, Visual Factory, continuous improvement, etc.What We OfferOpportunities for development and long-term career progression.Performance based incentives.Access to corporate discounts, including WhereFit, that provide wellness benefits to our employees.Give back to local communities with our PPG Colourful communities program.PPG Recognition programs.Generous discounts on PPG products through our company owned store network.About usHere at PPG, we make it happen, and we are looking for candidates of the highest integrity who share our values, with the commitment and lead to strive today to do better than yesterday – everyday.PPG : WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLDThrough leadership in innovation, sustainability, and colour, PPG helps customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets to enhance more surfaces in more ways than does any other company.
