About Us

The New Windsor Community Hub is situated next to the New Windsor Primary School. The Hub's vision is that 'New Windsor is a place where differences are celebrated and people are connected to the place and to each other'.

New Windsor Community Hub has a core focus on helping local people and groups to lead activities that connect and grow the New Windsor community. Celebrating differences and growing cross-cultural connections and understanding are essential to this focus. Activities in the Hub aim to build on the strengths and talents of New Windsor’s diverse residents to enable a more inclusive New Windsor community. The Hub also aims to facilitate a sense of place and belonging in an area that historically has lacked a strong sense of identity. The Hub supports local gatherings, connecting neighbours and neighbourhood activities that value and highlight our natural environment.

A range of programmes and events are facilitated through the Hub. They range from programmes such as the Breakfast Club, Women’s Swimming Sessions, Eco Crafters Workshop through to events such as Matariki and celebration of Pacific language weeks.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and community-minded Hub Coordinator to work with local residents and the Hub Board to build a strong, connected, and resilient community.

This role suits someone who loves bringing people together, supporting grassroots initiatives, and helping great ideas grow.

This is a 12-month contract role, working 25 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $30.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with residents to identify local strengths, needs, and opportunities
• Support people to turn community ideas into action
• Plan and facilitate local events and activities that build connection
• Promote inclusion and diverse participation across cultures and generations
• Maintain communication with community members and key partners (schools, churches, organisations, businesses, iwi / hapū, and Council)
• Oversee day-to-day running of the Hub facility
• Manage small project budgets and support financial record-keeping
• Work collaboratively with volunteers and the Board to deliver on the Hub’s vision
