Your proactive nature and judgement as well as your sound critical thinking abilities will assist you in making a meaningful contribution to our Ministerial and Executive Services, and support building trust and confidence in the Ministry.

We have three opportunities available in our Official Information team at an Advisor level.

This role involves coordinating and supporting the Ministry's responses to Official Information Act requests, providing expert advice on the mechanics of the Act and ensuring the Ministry complies with its statutory obligations.

You will be working with teams across the Ministry to collate information, critically assess it for release, and drafting responses on information requests.

If you are working at the Ministry already, in National Office or at front line, your institutional knowledge of the Ministry's services would be valuable in this role.

To be successful in this role, you will be / have :

good knowledge of New Zealand Parliament and government structures and processes – the machinery of government

familiarity with the structures of relevant statutes, rules and regulations

an understanding of the policy formation process

able to work on complex issues, explain your thinking verbally, and have excellent skills writing, with good attention to detail

good knowledge and experience working with standard office software products e.g. Word, Excel, Adobe

proven ability in performing a range of tasks under competing demands, producing a quality result on time.

Salary | Utu-a-tau : $79,200.00 - $95,873.00
