With a tight-knit, flat structured team, along with solid technical experience you must be a team player with passion, energy and drive to deliver exceptional project outcomes.The RoleAs the Principal or Lead Electrical Building Services Design Engineer, you will provide technical input and leadership across a range of sectors from project conception through to completion.

You'll be a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring designs are commercially sound, coordinated across all disciplines, and aligned to project objectives.

You'll also mentor junior engineers, support knowledge sharing, and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.Other duties include defining commercial and project risks associated to your discipline's documentation on projects; drive the coordination process on projects, including early stages in 2D; develop and maintain technical resources and keep up to date with codes and standards.Skills and experience requiredA tertiary Electrical Engineering or Building Services qualification.At least 8 years experience in building services design consulting.Strong client and project stakeholder engagement skills.Prior experience with the NZ building code.CPEng registration or approaching.Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.Excellent oral and written communication and influencing skillsExperience working across the full project life cycle including construction monitoring and contractor supervisionHaving an understanding of project commercials (Fee's vs time spent) and guiding project workflow accordingly.What's in it for youBase salary in the range of $130k–$150k + profit shareOpportunity for future equity / shareholding in the businessWork in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environmentFlexible, supportive workplace that values balance and professional growthExposure to diverse projects across commercial, residential, and institutional sectorsA role where your voice is heard, and your input shapes project successHow to ApplyIf you're ready to step into a principal or leadership role to make a lasting impact in building services, we'd love to hear from you.
