About the Role

The Specialty Clinical Nurse is responsible for the provision of speciality clinical expertise for a specific patient / turoro / tangata whai ora cohort to enhance health outcomes by working directly to provide assessment, care and education.

This role will provide specialist care to Northlands HIV positive patients, ensuring that the delivery of care contributes to a better patient experience and health outcomes.

You will deliver clinical interventions, coordinate contact tracing, and lead efforts in prevention and health promotion, ensuring high-quality, patient-focused care that contributes to lowering new local infections.

This role is based at the main Whangarei Sexual Health Clinic; however, it will involve travel to clinics and outreach services across the region.

About you

As a Specialty Clinical Nurse, you will need to bring strong communication skills to engage effectively with diverse communities.

You will bring a proactive, flexible approach and confidently adapt to changing priorities in a supportive, patient-centred environment.

Ideally, you will hold a postgraduate certificate / diploma in specialty nursing practice, with experience in clinical teaching.

Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand practicing certificateProficiency in specialty clinical nursingCurrent Expert Registered Nurse Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) PortfolioCommitment to biculturalism, with an understanding of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful wayAbility to plan, monitor and evaluate care using realistic timeframes and appropriate resourcesWorking at Health New Zealand
