About the role
The Primary Care Liaison Service has an exciting opportunity for an innovative Matanga
Tapuhi Nurse Practitioner (NP) position or a NP Candidacy to registration for
this area of practice.
The Nurse Practitioner enhances the multidisciplinary
team in service provision for people with mental health needs, looks to the
future health needs of the population and provides opportunity for clinical
leadership and consultation with the primary care and NGO sectors to contribute
to meeting identified health priorities.
These roles work across the secondary
and primary mental health space, ensuring tangata whaiora are seen sooner and
closer to home.
We have a full time position 1 FTE covering the Hutt Valley
region.
Salary :
Senior Nursing Grade 6 as Nurse Practitioner (NP) with registration as
NP as per PSA-Mental-Health-Public-Nursing-RONZ-CA-31-Mar-
appointed to NP Candidate role in a NP Candidacy.

Team / Service Location
The Primary
Care Liaison service is a small but effective team which covers the whole
MHAIDS region.
We are at a very exciting time of development, as we further explore
how our service can continue to be at the forefront of effective and seamless assessment,
treatment, and transition between primary and secondary services.
We work
closely with our colleagues in primary care settings provide high quality
mental health assessment of whaiora and advice to primary providers to ensure
treatment is maximized.
We also play a vital role in continuing education and
upskilling across the sector.
About you
The successful applicant will have a proven
experience and evidence of advanced mental health nursing expertise.
You will also be highly organised with
exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, a thorough
understanding of quality improvement and clinical processes, and able to
demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and reflection.

We are looking for a recognised advanced practice nurse that has a
passion for ongoing learning and the ability to adapt to work effectively with
different learning experiences.
You will need :
restrictions from the NCNZ.
three- four years relevant expertise and working at an advanced RN
practice level
requirements to undertake the NP postgraduate practicum aligning to the
national Nurse Practitioner Training Programme (NPTP).

Professional and clinical support for NP Candidates that includes peer support,
professional supervision, clinical supervision and practice development
opportunities.
Note : If appointed to the role and a current
employee at Capital Coast and Hutt Valley Health NZ - the Candidacy period will
be a secondment.
