We have a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) opportunity for a Professor or Associate Professor to make significant impact and develop their career in teaching, research and service.
We are open to expertise across areas relevant to our Law School, and are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to our teaching and / or research in any area of the Law.
You will have demonstrated leadership capability and show willingness to take up a future substantial leadership role as opportunities arise, including leading new programme developments, deputy / head of school, associate dean or research centre leader.
Teach across programmes as assigned by the Dean of Law.
Support program and course development, embedding Tikanga Maori into New Zealand's law curriculum.
Publish actively in your specialised field(s) and seek external research funding.
Mentor other colleagues in research and teaching.
Embrace and value diversity and inclusivity.
About you | Ko wai koe

The key selection criteria being sought are :
1. Qualification :
A minimum of a completed research LLM.
2. Teaching and Learning :
Significant undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing experience in Law.
Ability to contribute to curriculum growth and high-quality course content.
Track record of supervising postgraduate students to completion.
3. Research and Scholarship :
Strong research outputs and successful external research grant applications where appropriate.
Collaborative relationships with peers domestically and internationally.
Editorial board appointments or editorship / guest editorship experience.
4. Citizenship and Service :
Academic leadership and service record.
Engagement with external community members, industries, government and professional law bodies.
Media engagement and research translation to general audiences.
5. Equity and Te Aronui :
A champion for equity, supporting the school's Te Aronui journey.
