This role offers a chance to work closely with teachers and students and to have a meaningful impact on their learning journey.

The learning support coordinator is a classroom-released position, but may work in the classroom as required.

You will lead and manage the Learning Support Programme, ensuring students with diverse learning needs are supported to succeed.

Key responsibilities include :

Leadership & Management – Developing and maintaining learning support policies, budgets, and programmes in collaboration with the Deputy Principal; coordinating interventions, IEPs, ESOL support, and external agency referrals.

Student Support – Designing and monitoring tailored learning programmes and ensuring pastoral care and wellbeing for students with special needs.

Collaboration & Relationships – Building strong, positive partnerships with students, whanau, staff, and external specialists to provide effective, inclusive support.

Professional Contribution – Leading professional learning for staff, modelling the school's vision and values, and contributing to wider school life.

The learning support coordinator ensures that students with special education needs are recognised, supported, and able to thrive, while strengthening teacher capability and fostering an inclusive school culture.
