SHGC is seeking an experienced teacher to lead curriculum design and effective pedagogy across these discrete and specialised curricula, as well as Financial Literacy.
This branch of the New Zealand Social Sciences curriculum is an area of growth requiring expertise and innovative practice to respond to the ever-changing needs of students and potential curriculum changes.
At the heart of this role is the ability to model and mentor contemporary teaching practices that foster student agency, collaboration and critical thinking across curriculum.
The role also requires oversight and support of Gateway, Vocational Pathways, including tourism and child development.
Experience teaching NCEA commerce, accounting, economics or business is essential.
As a contributor to school-wide strategic development you must be able to demonstrate a sound, evidence-based understanding of effective pedagogy and have the capacity to collaborate effectively and influence meaningful and sustainable change.
