Through integration and collaboration,we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity,sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleOur registered nurses provide liaison and consultation to and betweenCourts, Prisons, Justice Departments, Mental Health, Police, Government andCommunity Agencies on mental health and addiction matters and the management ofassociated problems within the identified agency.The nurse utilises clinical and medical-legal knowledge and skills toprovide a quality rapid assessment of those persons identified as having or whomay have a mental health and addiction problem.About theTeam / Service LocationTheregional arm of Te Korowai-Whariki includes the Central Regional ForensicMental Health Service which operates at the interface between Mental HealthServices and the Justice System and works within the following settings 'prisons, courts, community, and inpatient.The Service offers assessment and rehabilitation services to defendantscharges with criminal offences and offenders who have psychiatric illness. Weare based in Porirua, Wellington.About youWeare looking for someone who is able to demonstrate professional, legal andethical responsibilities and cultural safety. These include being able todemonstrate knowledge and judgement and being accountable for own actions anddecisions, while promoting an environment that maximises patients' safety,independence, quality of life and health.Theideal candidate will be able to demonstrate interpersonal and therapeuticcommunication with clients, other nursing staff and inter-professionalcommunication and documentation.
