We're looking for an experienced and strategic thinker to join MBIE as a Senior Advisor Planning and Performance.
The Corporate and Digital Shared Services group brings together our shared service functions to create a centre of expertise to better serve our customers.
About the Role
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for collaboration and continuous improvement?
The Planning, Risk and Assurance branch at MBIE is seeking a skilled Senior Advisor Planning and Performance to lead the development and implementation of planning and performance frameworks that drive MBIE's strategic goals.
Collaborate across teams and functions, building strong relationships to deliver coordinated planning, reporting, and monitoring that support the strategic direction of MBIE's Corporate and Digital Shared Services (CDSS) and Strategy & Assurance groups.
Provide high-quality, analytical advice that informs decision-making and enhances systems and services impacting all New Zealanders.
Lead multiple initiatives concurrently, demonstrating strong project management and prioritisation skills.
Apply a well-developed awareness of organisational and sector-wide issues to provide insightful, strategic input into CDSS and MBIE-wide projects, policies, and procedures.
Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to refine planning and performance processes and drive better outcomes.

Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in business planning, performance reporting, or advisory roles.
Be focused, clear and persuasive with written and verbal communication.
Ability to think strategically and connect planning with performance outcomes.
Well-rounded analysis skills, able to draw insights and identify recommendations from different sources of information.
Experience in the public sector or a complex organisational environment.
A collaborative, proactive, and improvement-focused mindset.
Previous exposure to or experience in continual improvement methodologies, practices and behaviours.
Ability to quickly assimilate new information at a high level and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex issues.
