We are looking for an experienced teacher to work one day a week as learning support co-ordinator in our school.
The successful applicant will :
- Support learners by identifying and understanding their needs, and by providing timely, culturally responsive support so they can thrive, belong, and progress in all aspects of school life.
- Build staff capability to better meet the needs of learners and to strengthen their connections with early learning services.
- Encourage and support parents and whānau to work in partnership with the school, developing a clear understanding of learning support processes and points of contact.
- Access and coordinate services and resources to effectively support learners.
- Influence and collaborate with others to ensure all learners receive appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.
The successful candidate will be a registered teacher, holding a current practising certificate and a relevant teaching qualification, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas :
Child development and learning : Understanding developmental milestones and their relationship to educational needs.Inclusive education practices : Applying evidence-based strategies to support diverse learners.Use of data and evidence : Capability in analysing and applying data to inform planning and reporting on learning support needs.Bicultural knowledge and practice : Understanding and applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi within New Zealand school contexts.Only applicants with these prerequisites need apply.How to apply
