Jasmax is seeking a high-performing Head of Business Development to partner with leading designers to win city-shaping and nation-defining projects across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
Jasmax is a multi-award-winning architecture and design practice with studios across New Zealand and Australia. With over 250 staff members, Jasmax offers multi-disciplinary expertise and integrated design solutions across architecture, interior design, urban design and landscape architecture.
The role
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is an integral part of the senior leadership team, responsible for developing and implementing the strategies that secure our most important work.
Within this role you will :
- Create and implement sector-specific strategies with Sector Leads and Principals.
- Partner with Principals on personal BD plans aligned to sector strategies.
- Lead the trans‑Tasman BD team : workload allocation, performance management, professional development, and culture engagement.
- Manage bids and pursuits : contribute to Go / No Go decisions, manage Must Win projects and pursuit plans, and oversee the submission process.
- Manage BD finances and reporting : budgets, market analysis, risks and impacts, pipeline tracking, win rates, bid efficiency, client feedback, and performance reporting to the Board.
- Own systems and processes : CRM management, overseeing AI testing and development tools, and ownership of the bid library and capability documents.
- Attend relevant networking events, client functions and industry awards.
Attributes, skills and experience we are looking for
10+ years of impactful experience in business development and bid management, ideally within design or professional services (or equivalent experience in marketing and communications with proven BD outcomes).Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred.Proven track record with high win rates and positive client feedback.Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.Strong commercial acumen paired with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Collaborative by nature, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels, adapting your approach to different stakeholders and contexts.Resilient with strong problem‑solving and critical thinking capabilities.Why Jasmax
