Overview

At MediaWorks, we're looking for a confident and solutions focused

Head of Workplace Operations

(alternatively known as Head of Property and Facilities Operations) to lead our national property, facilities, procurement, and fleet functions — ensuring our workplaces are safe, efficient, and set up for success.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-paced, and ever-evolving environment.

You'll be the connector between teams, sites, and suppliers — balancing structure with adaptability.

You'll lead a talented team of 4 responsible for more than 20 offices, studios, and regional sites across Aotearoa.

From operational delivery and supplier management to risk and compliance, this role is about creating great environments for our people and ensuring our operations run smoothly every day.

What you'll do

Reporting to the CFO, you'll drive operational excellence across MediaWorks' property, procurement, and fleet portfolios.

You'll ensure every initiative is well planned, clearly communicated, and delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

Build strong relationships :

Develop trust and influence across the business, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.

Lead change with confidence :

Bring clarity, structure, and positivity to operational change, guiding teams through transition and aligning improvements to business goals.

Oversee facilities and property operations :

Ensure all our offices and studios are safe, functional, and reflective of our brand, managing leases, relocations, and fit-outs.

Outcome focused :

For efficient delivery, high quality and compliance measuring progress against defined goals / KPIs

Champion health, safety, and risk management :

Build a proactive culture of accountability and care.

Drive procurement excellence :

Lead key supplier relationships, RFPs, and contracts to deliver value, efficiency, and transparency.

Manage fleet operations :

Oversee a safe, compliant, and cost-effective national vehicle fleet.

What you\'ll bring

You'll be an exceptional stakeholder manager and communicator, known for your ability to navigate complexity, anticipate needs, and fast adaptability.

10+ years' experience in property, facilities, or operational management, ideally across multiple sites or regions.

Proven experience managing procurement, RFPs, and vendor performance.

Proven capability in health & safety management, contractor induction, and corporate risk oversight.

At least 2 years' experience managing fleet operations.

Commercially astute, with strong financial and contractual judgement.

A practical, people-focused leader who combines structure with flexibility and thrives in a creative business.

Maintains focus and composure under pressure, responds constructively to challenges or setbacks, and demonstrates persistence with a solution-oriented mindset.
