Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the roleNutrition and Dietetics are seeking an Expert Dietitian to be a part of the Diabetes Team on the Christchurch Health Campus.This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expert knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective assessment and intervention to patients living with diabetes, with a strong focus on service delivery improvements, professional development of junior staff and sharing your knowledge with the wider dietetics team.ResponsibilitiesManage a clinical case load across the outpatient settingsWork in collaboration with the Diabetes Multi-Disciplinary TeamProvide professional leadership and supervision of clinical activity and practice across all aspects of DiabetesUndertake service and policy development and quality improvement activities as part of the role including audits, research and projectsLead and support professional development, skill sharing and positive practiceAbout YouWe are seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our team in this Expert role.

To be successful you will demonstrate the following skills : A drive to ensure the best health outcomes for patients living with diabetesThe ability to work within a team and contribute to the provision of quality care within the serviceSelf-motivated, organised and enjoy a challengeStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships with patients and other people within the serviceMinimum 5 years of clinical practice within DiabetesConfident with diabetes technologies, such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systemsExperience with clinical teaching / supervision, training and development of staffCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthDemonstrated decision making particularly in complex situationsExperience in people leadership and / or managementWe are looking for a self-motivated dietitian who enjoys a challenge, enjoys innovation and applies health improvement models to practice.
