  • 0.6FTE (24 hours per week) Fixed Term parental leave cover through to October 2026 for a NZ Registered Dietitian with a current APC

    About the role

    Nutrition and Dietetics are seeking an Expert Dietitian to be a part of the Diabetes Team on the Christchurch Health Campus.

    This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expert knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective assessment and intervention to patients living with diabetes, with a strong focus on service delivery improvements, professional development of junior staff and sharing your knowledge with the wider dietetics team.

    In this role you will :

    • Manage a clinical case load across the outpatient settings
    • Work in collaboration with the Diabetes Multi-Disciplinary Team
    • Provide professional leadership and supervision of clinical activity and
    • practice across all aspects of Diabetes

    • Undertake service and policy development and quality improvement activities as part of the role including audits, research and projects
    • Lead and support professional development, skill sharing and positive
    • practice About You

      We are seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our team in this Expert role.

      To be successful you will demonstrate the following skills :

    • A drive to ensure the best health outcomes for patients living with diabetes
    • The ability to work within a team and contribute to the provision of
    • quality care within the service

    • Self-motivated, organised and enjoy a challenge
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build
    • and nurture relationships with patients and other people within the service

    • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice within Diabetes
    • Confident with diabetes technologies, such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems
    • Experience with clinical teaching / supervision, training and development of staff
    • Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo
    • Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your

      learning and growth

    • Demonstrated decision making particularly in complex situations
    • Experience in people leadership and / or managementWe are looking for a self-motivated dietitian who enjoys a challenge, enjoys innovation and applies health improvement models to practice.
