9.15am – 6.15pm (8 hours – Karori Library)
Tuesday :
9.15am – 6.15pm (8 hours – Karori Library)
Wednesday :
9.30am – 4.00pm (5.5 hours – Karori Library)
Thursday :
9.30am – 6.30pm (8 hours – Karori Library)
Friday :
9.30am – 5.00pm (6.5 hours – Karori Library)
Au ake mahi | What you'll do
This role delivers forward-facing customer service at Library and Community Spaces facilities.
You will be part of the team that enables the lifelong learning journey of our community members, supporting customers to use a broad range of digital and physical services and collections.
You will demonstrate manaakitanga in all interactions and work to create spaces that are welcoming and inviting; you will celebrate the diversity of our community in the range of services, resources and events that our public have access to.
Together we will offer our Libraries and Community Spaces as Nga Puna Korero / Springs of Conversation – where the public connect, share, and contribute.

We're looking for someone who :
Has
at least two years of customer service experience
, ideally in a public-facing role
Is a positive, respectful and collaborative team player who provides exceptional customer service and places people at the heart of everything they do
Communicates clearly and confidently with people of all ages and backgrounds
Takes pride in being flexible, motivated, well-organised and detail-oriented
Has some familiarity with public libraries and the services we offer
Is confident using everyday digital tools and technologies, you don't need to be an expert, just comfortable learning and helping others
Is happy to do their fair share of work returning or shelving books
Is resilient and able to deal with difficult situations with customers if needed
Is actively on a te reo Maori journey and keen to contribute to uplifting te reo and te ao Maori in our spaces
Has STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and maths) literacy – a bonus that helps us deliver engaging programmes and support lifelong learning
Is willing to be involved in running children's programmes.
We are looking to appoint from $66,735 per annum (pro-rata), for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
