Permanent role based in Wellington, reporting to the Manager – Technology Delivery.Key AccountabilitiesYour focus is on leading the design, development and continuous improvement of digital solutions within the Statistics DevOps team.
You'll have input into technical roadmaps and solution strategies and build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver impactful insights.Required ExperienceExperience working with data lake environments such as Cloudera or Databricks.Solid Microsoft SQL programming experience.Knowledge of different database systems such as RDBMS and NoSQL.Ability to work in Linux and Windows operating systems.Experience coding, testing and developing backend systems.Knowledge of functional and object-oriented programming.Knowledge / familiarity with the DevOps model, in-house standards and best practice.Proven ability to establish collaborative relationships within a team and with business.Proven ability to own problems / issues and drive them through to resolution / mitigation.Proactive reporting of progress on work assignments (including delays) to appropriate managers.Active engagement in up-skilling in new technologies.Knowledge / familiarity or a commitment to learning and understanding Te Ao Maori, including ensuring opportunities at Stats NZ reach the Maori community.What you bringTransferable skills from experience outside of work are welcomed.
