You will oversee a team of Import Operational Care Specialists, ensuring high performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction through strategic supervision and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is ideal for a seasoned logistics professional with proven experience in team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation.Responsibilities include : Strategic Oversight : Lead and manage the Import Operational Care team, ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence across all shipment cycles.Performance Management : Set clear expectations, monitor KPIs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and service quality.Cross-Functional Leadership : Collaborate closely with Customer Care, Sales, Revenue / FSL, Customs, and Systems & Processes teams to align operational goals with broader business objectives.Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and service delivery in line with SLAs.Issue Resolution : Act as the primary escalation point for complex operational challenges, guiding your team through resolution strategies and coaching for future prevention.Team Development : Foster a high performing, engaged team culture through mentoring, training, and regular feedback, ensuring professional growth and morale.Process Governance : Oversee adherence to industry standards, documentation protocols, and regulatory requirements, ensuring operational integrity and risk mitigation.Customer Experience : Champion a customer-first mindset by ensuring operational processes support seamless, reliable, and responsive service delivery.Requirements include : Minimum 5 years' experience specifically within the NZ Freight Forwarding industry, with deep expertise in Import Sea Logistics operations.Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams, with a focus on coaching, development, and performance optimisation.Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry compliance standards.We offer a safe, stable environment where your career can make a real difference.
