Hvac / Refrigeration Technician – Timaru

About the role

As an HVAC Mechanical Technician at Active Refrigeration, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

This is a full-time role based in Timaru, South Canterbury, where you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' critical equipment and infrastructure.

There is an opportunity to gain experience and training in Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration.

What you'll be doing

Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide recommendations

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and systems

Perform repairs and replacements of components as needed

Maintain detailed records of all work carried out

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

Assist with the installation of new systems as required

Conduct scheduled and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems

What we're looking for

Formal qualification in HVAC / Refrigeration or Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

Hands-on experience as a HVAC / Refrigeration Technician

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Valid NZ driver's licence

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Commitment to safety and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
