Join us as an Apprentice Mechanic in our Timaru based workshop!

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Mechanic to join the Timaru team within our existing workshop.

We have a comprehensive workshop which provides mechanical services for our vehicles and equipment.

This is an entry-level role with the purpose of training a new generation of tradespeople with on-the-job training.

As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will :

Service and repair vehicles and plant with guided assistance.

Complete inspections of vehicles and trailers.

Report all failure / breakdowns / causes to necessary supervisors.

Maintain a clean and tidy workplace.

We're

looking for someone with :

National Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 3) or a relevant Pre-trade certification.

Full Class 1 Drivers Licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements would be advantageous)

Basic knowledge of machines, materials and tools used for repairs and maintenance

Understanding of equipment selection, the ability to effectively determine the tools and equipment needed to do the job.

Basic industry knowledge.

Mechanical aptitude with a passion for solving mechanical problems.
