Some of the benefits we offer include : Professional development : External and internal paid training, professional and leadership development programme and support towards professional registration and study placements.Health and Wellness : Free flu vaccine, team building days and extra leave days, including birthday leave.Employment Assistance Programme : Regular internal and external supervision and peer lead support and supervision.Other : Laptop, phone (work purposes and for longevity of employment) and use of modern hybrid fleet vehicles for everyday work activities, free on-site parking and staff discount at local childcare (Windsor Park only)Office Location : You will be working from our North Shore Office based at Windsor Park.The role | Mo tenei turanga mahAs a Peer Support worker, you will be a valued member of our team providing peer-based mentoring, advocacy and person-centred support service across the Waitemata region.This is an exciting opportunity to use your lived experience of mental distress and / or addiction to work alongside tangata whai ora in a mutual relationship to foster hope, encourage self-determination and support peoples\' aspirations for wellbeing.We are looking for someone who can do 3 days per week.Primary Objectives for the RoleAn in-depth understanding of the peer values and reflective practice, and the ability to apply them in your role.Excellent communication skills and willingness to share your experience of wellbeing and recovery in meaningful ways that enhance the recovery of tangata whai ora.Work in partnership with tangata whai ora and whanau to enhance resilience and promote independence.Completed Intentional Peer Support training, the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Peer Support) Level 4, or a recognised equivalent.You | MouWe are looking for individuals who share our values and have commitment and passion for supporting people in their communities.

You will also : Hold the New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Health and Well-being (or recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within 6 months of employment.Ideally bringing two years of experience as a peer support worker.Have excellent communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.Hold a clean full NZ driver's license.Strong technology skills; must be experienced in using Microsoft Office products and familiar with databases.Have the ability to work individually and collaboratively under a multi-disciplinary setting.Have a sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be able to demonstrate bicultural concepts in practice, or willingness to learn.An interest in Maori and Pasifika people's customs and cultural norms.
