This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference for learners, teachers, and whanau, while strengthening inclusive practices.The LSC role is classroom-released, with the flexibility to work alongside kaiako and students where needed.
You will lead, influence, and collaborate to ensure that every learner is recognised, supported, and able to thrive.ResponsibilitiesStudent support – Identify and respond to student needs early, design and monitor tailored programmes, coordinate IEPs, and provide culturally responsive support that upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Teacher capability – Work alongside kaiako to embed effective strategies, lead professional learning, and strengthen links with ECE and external specialists.Whanau engagement – Build strong, positive partnerships with parents and whanau, ensuring their voices are heard in decisions that affect their children's learning.Collaboration – Connect with other LSCs, MoE, and wider agencies to access services and resources.Leadership – Influence school-wide systems and resourcing, provide reporting to leadership, and creating a school culture where inclusion and equity are at the heart of learning.QualificationsIs a registered NZ teacher with a current full practising certificate and relevant qualifications.Has successful experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.Can engage confidently at a leadership level and influence practice across the school.Demonstrates strong relationship-building skills with students, whanau, staff, and external agencies.Brings cultural responsiveness and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.We are committed to shaping an education system that delivers equitable and excellent outcomes.
