Heritage Expeditions, pioneers in responsible, conservation-based small-ship expedition cruising, are looking for a proactive and talented Management Accountant keen to take advantage of an incredible opportunity to become a key member of our Finance team.This exciting career opportunity is your chance to make your mark in the world of authentic expedition cruise with New Zealand's only family-owned and operated cruise company.About the RoleReporting to and working closely with our Chief Financial Officer, your role will be integral to supporting operational financial compliance, management reporting, and business development and growth across the group, requiring strong collaboration within the finance team and across the commercial and operational teams of the organisation.ResponsibilitiesSupport month-end processes and assist with preparing accurate management accounts including maintaining all workpapers and completing reconciliations, for multiple entities and involving multiple currencies.Undertake financial analysis and reporting on key revenue and cost centres and KPI's.Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting of performance and cashflow.Assist with year-end financial reporting and compliance requirements.Assist with costing and pricing.Maintain financial relationships and reconciliations with two key suppliers.Maintain fixed asset registers.Assist with projects and business case preparation.Assist with process improvement initiatives to streamline financial operations, improve reporting efficiency and systems.Assist with taxation compliance processes (FBT, GST, Income Tax).
Provide support to the CFO to ensure the Group meets its financial and strategic objectives.About YouCA qualified (CA ANZ or equivalent) with tertiary qualifications in accounting.Proven relevant experience in a finance role, ideally within a chartered accounting firm and or commercial environment.Strong commercial awareness and acumen.Strong technical skills and understanding of accounting concepts, principles, plus high-level proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with IFRIS.Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret financial information clearly and solve problems.Detail orientated and proven ability to follow and enhance processes.Excellent communication skills and confidence for engaging in clear interactions within the Finance team and across other sectors of the business.A quick learner, a self-starter, willing to roll up your sleeves on variety of tasks as required, adaptable to change, and able to manage a diverse workload all with a smile.Enthusiasm in being part of a dynamic and growing business.You must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
