Management Accountant / Financial AnalystThe Opportunity : You'll partner with the retail operations team to deliver financial insights that drive commercial performance.

You'll own the monthly management reporting cycle, analyse store and product profitability, and build financial models that inform key business decisions.Your day-to-day involves preparing variance analysis against budget, forecasting sales and margin performance across the network, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and presenting insights to senior leadership.

You'll also support the annual budgeting process and contribute to strategic projects as the business expands.About the companyThis established New Zealand business operates multiple stores and enjoys a finance team that values commercial thinking, clear communication, and people who take ownership of their work.The RoleThe key responsibilities include : Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis against budget and prior yearBuild rolling 12-month forecasts and lead the annual budgeting processAnalyse store-level P&L performance and identify trends across the retail networkEvaluate product and category profitability to inform range and pricing decisionsPresent financial insights and recommendations to the senior leadership teamPartner with retail operations and merchandise teams on commercial decisionsDevelop financial models for new store openings, capital expenditure, and strategic initiativesEnhance financial reporting tools and streamline month-end processesYour ProfileThe ideal candidate will have : Three to five years' experience in management accounting or financial analysisWorking towards or completed CA / CPA qualificationStrong Excel skills including financial modelling and data analysisExperience in retail, FMCG, or commercial environments preferredProven ability to translate financial data into commercial recommendationsUnderstanding of inventory management and margin analysisWe are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
