Join the Blockhouse Bay team as a Libraries & Council Services Assistant to bring energy, creativity, and innovation to the wider Whau Local Board community.
This Fixed term 28-hour per week position including a regular weekend day, the role is based at Blockhouse Bay Library.
You will need to be flexible and available to work across the Whau Local Board libraries.
Our library whanau is focused on caring for each other, our community, and our environment.
New Lynn Library is known for promoting green literacy, collaborating with community partners, and welcoming people from all walks of life.
You will be making a difference to the diverse community of the Whau, supporting literacy and community wellbeing in the Whau.
Responsibilities
Delivering friendly, helpful service across in-person, phone, and online channels
Resolving enquiries confidently and guide customers clearly when follow-up is needed
Promoting self-service tools and support digital literacy using current tech and resources
Providing expert help with library collections, council services, and equipment
Maintaining accessible, high-quality collections and empower customers to use them independently
We are looking for someone who will muck-in to do whatever needs doing.
You will play an active role in daily operations, ensuring patrons have an all-round excellent library experience.
Your mahi will include supporting day-to-day operations and the development and delivery of programmes driven by community needs.
