Senior Information Sharing Advisor – Coordination (fixed term / secondment to 30 June 2026)
Are you passionate about enabling secure and effective information sharing across government? We’re looking for a skilled and collaborative Senior Information Sharing Advisor – Coordination to join our Information Sharing and Privacy team at New Zealand Customs Te Mana Ārai o Aotearoa.
This position is a full-time fixed term / secondment opportunity to 30 June 2026. About This Role :
Reporting to the Manager Information Sharing and Privacy, you will be responsible for leading the NZ Customs response to information sharing requests from other agencies and organisations.
This role will triage, coordinate and support desired new information sharing activities (including preparing and finalising information sharing agreements and other documents as needed) from the time that requests are received by Customs, through to the point of implementation. The role will also support the review and amendment (where needed) of existing agreements to ensure that the cohort is current and compliant.

To join Customs in any role you must be a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident
OR a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in New Zealand for the last five years, (including five years ago from the date of this application) and resides in New Zealand at time of application who has travelled out of New Zealand for short periods of time i.e. >
6 months in one of the following countries : Australia, United Kingdom, United States or Canada and can provide police certificates from those countries for the period of absence.
Because of the nature of Customs’ work you must have a clear Police record. Organisational security clearances are mandatory and are conducted by Customs. You will also be required to pass a drug test.
You must have a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service towards a recommendation of suitability for security clearance at a higher level.
