Restaurant Manager

Off The Track is a restaurant located at 114 Havelock North, between Hastings and Havelock North, with expansive decking overlooking spacious gardens and sweeping views of Te Mata Peak.We are seeking a skilled and experienced Duty Manager to join our team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising and leading the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding guidance, motivation, and support to ensure efficient performance and excellent customer service.Ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained at all times.Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe environment for staff and customers.Addressing any safety concerns or incidents promptly and appropriately.Training new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and standards.Providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities to enhance staff performance and career growth.Resolving issues that arise during the shift, such as customer complaints, staff conflicts, or equipment malfunctions.Making quick decisions to address emergencies or unforeseen situations.Maintaining clear and effective communication with the restaurant management team, staff members, and customers.Updating staff on changes in policies, procedures, or menu items.RequirementsAt least 5 years of experience in a duty manager's role in hospitality.LCQ and Manager License are required.Available to work weekends and public holidays.Able to work well under pressure and keep up with our fast-paced restaurant.Willing to both teach and learn new wait staff / bar staff.Enthusiastic about creating great customer experience to maintain our high standards.
