Wellington central based role with a Salary $132K to $160K per annum

Fixed term until October 2027

Our ICT Asset and Supplier Management team sits within the Corporate Digital Shared Services. Within our team we are proactive in managing the asset, contracts, financial commitments and the relationships with our technology suppliers. We are taking a different approach to tracking our consumption of technology services with the goal of creating transparency that enable financial and environmental sustainability.

As a Supplier Relationship Manager in our team, you will be hands on in working with our business, leading supplier relationships, and furthering our work on our supplier management framework, and imbed this across ICT to drive enterprise level outcome. Working with a portfolio of suppliers, you will have a lot of freedom and scope to make this role your own. As a natural problem solver, you will enjoy the challenge and complexity that working in a large organisation brings. You will have the opportunity to unpick the value of the arrangements in place and build a business case for the future of our technology.

About you

This role is suitable for individuals with experience in relationship management or vendor account management who are seeking a new opportunity. The position involves working with both internal teams and suppliers, demonstrating an ability to understand broader organisational contexts, applying strategic thinking, and thoroughly analysing contracts and commercial structures. Candidates should have experience navigating large organisations, building effective relationships, and utilising relevant technologies and tools needed for success in this environment.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience working in commercial management with suppliers or clients
  • Dynamic self-starter capable of self-direction
  • Previous experience in roles requiring commercial analysis or bid preparation, stakeholder management and influencing
  • Previous experience working in a complex public sector organisation
  • A solid working understanding of technology services
  • A collegial, non-judgemental and empathetic approach
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
