Group Manager, Corporate Services

South Wairarapa District Council is seeking a strategic and people-focused leader to join our team as Group Manager, Corporate Services , based in Martinborough. This pivotal role provides leadership across a broad portfolio. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, you’ll contribute to the collective leadership of the Council, driving organisation-wide strategy and performance. You’ll also play a key role in championing our Customer-First value and embedding SWDC’s core values — Pride, Manaakitanga, Collaboration, and Customer-First, throughout the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Work as part of the Strategic Leadership Team on providing organisational leadership to Council
• Provide overall leadership, management and strategic direction for the corporate services group
• Drive the development and implementation of Council wide strategies and objectives
• Ensure the Council's corporate policies, procedures and systems are effectively implemented and continuously improved
• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture
• Proactively identifying and managing corporate services related risks and issues
• Provide expert advice and support to the Chief Executive and Elected Members on all corporate services matters
