Overview

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Head of Sales & Partnerships to build Activate's revenue engine from the ground up. As our first dedicated sales hire and founding member of our go-to-market function, you'll own the complete revenue journey—from working with Marketing to generate pipeline through closing enterprise deals and scaling our partner channels.

This isn't about managing an existing sales team or executing someone else's playbook. You'll be "finishing the work of founding" our sales function by personally carrying quota, testing what works through direct execution, and then systematically building the processes and team needed to scale beyond yourself.

You'll own the revenue number. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be accountable for hitting growth targets while establishing the foundation for predictable, scalable revenue generation. This role combines hands-on deal execution with strategic thinking—you'll be closing enterprise IAM automation deals while simultaneously building the go-to-market strategy that drives our next phase of growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Head of Sales and Partnerships and a key member of the Activate Leadership Team, you have the following duties and responsibilities :

  • Own revenue growth and achieve revenue growth targets, take full accountability for Activate’s targets and growth trajectory
  • Personally reach out to prospective customers, and manage them through the sales cycle to close deals
  • Drive partner sales by identifying, approaching and recruiting strategic partners, managing relationships with existing partners; capture what works to build a scalable channel program
  • Build and execute our multi-channel revenue generation strategy to cover direct and partner sales as well as our Enterprise and Mid-Market customer motions
  • Finish the work of “founding” the sales function through direct execution, documentation of what works and systematising the sales processes for scale
  • Scale our go to market function beyond yourself, prove what works, then hire and train a team to consistently deliver
  • Work closely with Marketing to optimise lead generation and pipeline conversion
  • Collaborate with the Marketing, Product, and Customer Success Teams to align sales efforts with overall company objectives
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure project goals and timelines are met
  • Shape company strategy as a key leadership team member, with direct input into product roadmap, go-to-market decisions, and how we build our culture.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role in a B2B Software company with technical products
  • Startup / Scale-Up Environment Experience : track record succeeding in early-stage or high-growth companies where you've had to build functions from the ground up
  • Demonstrated history of owning, developing, and hitting revenue targets
  • Technical solution selling experience, able to understand and articulate technical software benefits to IT decision-makers, with experience in identity management, security or IT infrastructure solutions is a plus
  • Hands-on execution mindset - Proven ability to personally carry quota while simultaneously building processes and systems, not just managing existing teams
  • Exceptional communication presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Channel / Partner Development Expertise - Direct experience building partner programs from scratch, including recruiting partners, creating enablement materials, and managing co-selling relationships
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a willingness to take on a variety of tasks
  • Proficiency in marketing and sales automation tools; We use HubSpot and Clay, experience with these is a plus
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Experience with products within the Microsoft ecosystem is a plus
