Overview

Full time, Fixed term, Start Date : 19 / 11 / 2025, End Date : 27 / 01 / 2027 (Extended leave).

Role : Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher; Social sciences.

Otorohanga College is seeking a passionate and innovative social studies / history teacher to join our dynamic team.

The successful applicant will be committed to engaging students in Y9–13 through inclusive and inspiring teaching practices that support a culturally responsive curriculum.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who :

Builds strong relationships with students and colleagues

Has a sound understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA

Is enthusiastic about making history and the social sciences relevant and meaningful

Will contribute positively to the wider life of the college.

Experience with Matauranga Maori and / or an interest in local curriculum design would be an advantage.
