Head of Bermuda Regulatory Reporting And Accounting
A leading life reinsurance client is seeking an accomplished financial executive to lead the charge on regulatory and capital reporting.
You'll take ownership of Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) and Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement (BSCR) reporting across multiple Bermuda-based entities, guiding regulatory relationships, enabling transaction execution, and ensuring world-class compliance. Your insights will directly inform board-level decisions, new business structuring, and capital optimization initiatives.
What You'll Do
Regulatory & Solvency Reporting
- Lead the end-to-end process for quarterly and annual EBS and BSCR submissions, including deep analysis of solvency movements and capital drivers
- Manage the full cycle of statutory filings documents, working across actuarial, investments, underwriting, and risk
- Serve as the key point of contact with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), managing communications, queries, and regulatory expectations
- Present BSCR results, solvency position, and regulatory metrics to senior management and the Board
- Interpret new regulatory guidance and proactively assess its impact across capital models and reporting frameworks
- Oversee the preparation, audit, and filing of annual financial statements and quarterly management accounts
- Ensure a robust financial close and control environment, aligned to internal governance frameworks and external audit standards
- Coordinate inputs across global teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data and reporting integrity
- Prepare and deliver strategic capital plans, stress testing, and scenario modeling to Executive Management and the Board
- Chair or serve as a key delegate on governance forums, including the Investments and Capital Committee and Treasury Working Group
- Drive the licensing and regulatory approval process for new legal entities, including development of underwriting strategies, retrocession plans, and business models
- Provide strategic input on new transactions, M&A initiatives, and capital optimization opportunities
What You Bring
Recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)5+ years of commercial accounting experience in life re / insurance finance functionExpertise in Bermuda regulations and multi-entity reporting structures such as EBS, BSCR, and governance standardsDemonstrated success managing audit cycles, internal controls, and high-stakes regulatory filingsA proactive and commercially minded approach - able to connect reporting with broader business strategyClear, confident communicator - comfortable presenting to Boards, regulators, and senior executivesA collaborative leadership style, with the ability to drive outcomes across actuarial, investment, tax, and operationsPlease note that applications are being accepted up until July 24th.
