Overview
We are looking for a Senior Personal Lines Broker to join our vibrant team in Wellington.
In this role, you will focus on delivering expert advice and tailored personal lines insurance solutions to ensure our clients are adequately protected to navigate any insurable event with confidence.
You will manage a dedicated personal lines insurance portfolio, provide exceptional service and resolve complex insurance inquiries.
Additionally, you will drive growth through new business opportunities, foster strong client relationships, and champion the delivery of outstanding client outcomes.
This is a desk-based position where client relationships are primarily built and maintained through phone and email communications.

What you'll do
Champion our values through actions that help the business achieve its mission, to position our clients to financially survive any insurable event
High level end to end servicing of a dedicated client portfolio of high value and / or more complex clients including renewals, new business, alterations and endorsements
Manage and resolve technical client enquiries for personal lines insurance (cover queries, policy amendments) and coach and develop peers to increase overall team technical capabilities
Advocate for our clients with the claims team as appropriate to manage the claims process ensuring that claims are processed in an efficient and timely manner to provide an excellent service level to our clients
Assist team with more complex claims and provide clients with timely and accurate updates on personal lines insurance claims
Contribute to annual budget planning for your portfolio and focus on exceeding personal targets / budgets
Maintain and develop technical knowledge and understanding of our clients' personal lines insurance needs to provide expert tailored advice
Proactively develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure trust and brand loyalty exists, ensuring Gallagher's brand remains front of mind with our customers
Generate growth within the existing portfolio and new business opportunities
Setting up new policies, arranging finance agreements and collecting premiums within the required timeframe
Coach, train and mentor peers and new team members to develop their knowledge and capabilities
Mitigate Professional Indemnity exposure through adherence to best practice, internal guidelines and FSLAA regulations
Champion the peer review process through active participation and coaching of peers
What we're looking for
Experienced domestic broker
with demonstrated technical and industry knowledge
The ability to build and maintain enduring relationships with customers through email and phone contact
A demonstrated in-depth understanding of New Zealand insurance policies and regulations
Experience in developing new business opportunities
Competent / advanced user of Microsoft Office
Holds a Certificate in Financial Services (NZQA Level 5)
