Overview

We’re seeking an experienced leader to drive delivery, inspire our teams, and shape the future of transmission projects across New Zealand and Australia.

In this critical role, you’ll take responsibility for delivering major projects while contributing to the growth and success of our wider Energy & Environment business. With a strong pipeline of work across the ANZ region, we’re looking for a Transmission Lines engineer who can lead and deliver projects in the transmission and distribution space and strengthen our pipeline through key client relationships.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of our group, while working closely with valued clients such as Transpower. Joining our long-standing, collaborative team, you’ll be part of a group that is passionate about what we do and recognised for delivering technical excellence across the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary transmission projects across New Zealand and Australia.
  • Drive technical excellence and delivery, ensuring we meet and exceed the AECOM client promise.
  • Inspire and mentor the next generation of engineers, while providing expert design review and guidance.
  • Build and strengthen lasting relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and our national / offshore teams.
  • Shape the future of our Transmission & Distribution group by contributing to strategy, driving innovation, and leading winning proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering with 12+ years’ hands-on Transmission Line design experience from feasibility to detailed design.
  • Proven experience as a design manager or lead engineer in NZ and / or Australia.
  • Strong mentoring, problem-solving and people development skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with hybrid teams across multiple locations.
  • Established client relationships within New Zealand and / or Australia.
