This position will be based out of our MacLaggan Street, Dunedin office, working a Monday to Friday roster.Reporting into the Superintendent - Financial Services, this role will lead the accounts payable and payroll functions, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
Additionally, this position will provide leadership to finance staff, ensure timely and accurate reporting on these functions, and work collaboratively with IT support, supply chain, and business units to optimise systems, processes, and service delivery.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesOversee accounts payable / payroll functionsDevelop, prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable performance, ageing, and trendsWork with supply chain and business units to ensure accurate, timely processing of supplier invoices and purchase ordersEnsure compliance with relevant employment legislation, contracts, and internal policiesIdentify opportunities to streamline accounts payable and payroll processesLead initiatives to improve efficiency, automation, and integration with supply chain and business operationsKeep up to date with payroll legislation and best practices, ensuring the compliance and control requirements of a listed entity are metQualificationsExperience in accounts payable and payroll functionsProven supervisory or team leadership experience in financial servicesStrong understanding of payroll legislation, tax obligations, and accounts payable processesProven ability to prepare and interpret reports on financial operationsKnowledge of AP invoice processing software such as Redmap or similar workflow automation toolsKnowledge of payroll systems such as SAP, MYOB, Xero, or Technology OneMicrosoft Excel skills, including reporting, analysis, and reconciliation functionsExperience in high-volume AP environments and complex payrollsKnowledge of continuous improvement principlesTertiary qualification in accounting, finance, is desirable but not mandatoryAdditional InformationResidential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ.Competitive salaryDiscounts on retail and servicesFree Southern Cross Healthcare InsuranceLiving Our Values recognition programAccess to physio sessionsStudy assistanceAccess to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Exceptional working environment where people are valued and respectedApplications close 27 September 2025.
