Established in 2016, ARC Vets is an independent NZ family‑owned referral practice with two state‑of‑the‑art small animal hospitals in Auckland, ARC Central Ltd in Freemans Bay, and ARC North Ltd in Albany. We’re a 24 / 7 operation with an incredible team of specialists in surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, and critical care. Job Description
Oncology Veterinary Nurse Team Leader – Freemans Bay, Auckland
Our amazing Oncology Vet Nurse team leader has been offered a brilliant opportunity in the UK and we will be very sad to see her go. This creates a very important role in ARC Central.
Join us as a Team Leader and lead a small team (1‑2 people) of dedicated and passionate nurses in caring for a diverse range of Oncology patients with a wide range of disease processes.
We are looking for an authentic leader who will be an approachable, supportive and a positive role model for the team. They will possess excellent communication skills as well as a passion for nursing.
They will have the ability to multitask up a storm; problem solve a variety of situations all while enjoying an interactive and inclusive environment.
A veterinary nursing qualification and / or at least 3 years’ experience as a head veterinary nurse is required, specialty experience is a bonus!
As a Team Leader you will :
Lead and Develop : Mentor team members, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative environment.
Drive Results : You will have the opportunity to provide and foster outstanding patient care and use your nursing skills – we expect our nurses to place IV catheters, take blood samples, take radiographs, monitor anaesthetics, scrub into surgical procedures etc.
Grow Your Career : We invest in your development and have motivated, experienced nurses and teachers to help you succeed. We offer a CPD allowance each year as well as two CPD days a year.
Competitive hourly rate : $32 - $38 gross per hour
Hours of work : 40 hours worked during the weekdays.
