Care Partner

OverviewThe roleWe are looking for a team of Care Partners to join our dedicated team at Meadowbank Care part of Meadowbank Village.Our Care Partners are essential in enriching the lives of residents living with dementia.

Unlike the traditional HCA or DT roles, Care Partners are resident-led.

As a Care Partner, you'll work in partnership with residents to support their personal needs and connect them with activities that foster enrichment, connection and dignity.You'll work closely with residents and their whanau, offering compassionate support that nurtures both the individual and their loved ones.

Every day, you'll help enhance the lives of people living with dementia, building relationships that make a real difference in their world.

ResponsibilitiesSupporting residents in engaging in activities that have meaning to them.Supporting and encouraging residents using a strength-based approach.Engaging with residents in all aspects of their life, spanning from assistance with personal cares to arranging an outing or supporting activities to enhance quality of life for the resident.Building relationships with residents, families / whanau and other team members to support an individualised approach to each resident's care plan.

Qualifications / What you'll bringA passion to support and enable people living with dementia to promote and maintain skills and abilities.A kind and caring nature and a willingnessHas great people skills and who has an empathy for working with people living with dementia and their familiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to be flexible and open minded in your approach to supporting residents, whilst still adhering to company policies and proceduresFlexible multitasking and time management skills.Ideally you will have a current drivers' licence but not mandatory
