To do this effectively we must position ourselves to elevate our monitoring and mentoring responsibilities and emphasise our role in holding other agencies to account for delivery of public services to, for and with Maori.Our Policy Puni is looking for apart time (2 days per week)Tautohito| Chief Advisor, Policy for a 6-month period to lead and support the finalisation and delivery of the Policy puni capability plan, grounded in the Policy Project's framework and resources.The Chief Advisor, Policy will lead the finalisation and delivery of the Policy Capability Plan, refining it using insights from policy skills mapping and external reviews, while embeddingTe Tautuhi o Rongoas the foundation for Treaty-based policy.The role involves engaging with external stakeholders across the NZ Public Service to ensure best practices and collaborating with internal teams to support implementation.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to : Developing practical tools and recommendations for building policy capability.Providing strategic advice to senior leaders on integrating capability planning into organisational strategies and establishing mechanisms to monitor progress and impact.Additionally, the Chief Advisor will prepare updates and reports for leadership forums to ensure alignment with the Policy Project's framework and tools.The likely appointment range is$180,014 (80%) - $225,018 (100%) based on skills and experience pro-rated for the period of the fixed term.You are a highly capable leader with proven policy experience in a senior / principal capacity with a focus on Maori Development.
