The Disability Support Services (DSS) Group is responsible for commissioning, funding, and stewarding high-quality services that support disabled people, their families, and whanau.

About the role | Mo te tunga :

As Director Advisory, you'll lead the DSS Advisory team and oversee the High and Complex Framework, review panel, and assurance functions.

You'll provide expert advice to senior leaders, champion innovation and accountability, and ensure high-quality, person-centred outcomes for disabled people with complex support needs.

Key responsibilities include :

Leading and developing strategic relationships with key agency partners to enable integrated service delivery and system improvements.

Leading, coaching, and developing the DSS Advisory team, fostering a culture of high performance, professional growth, and continuous quality improvement.

Overseeing the provision of specialist and clinical advice, ensuring best practice and evidence-based approaches.

Providing stewardship of the High and Complex Framework and working closely with our joint agency partners who hold regulation and statutory functions for relevant legislation.

Oversight of the review panel and assurance processes.

Representing the organisation in high-level forums and negotiations with sector partners and government agencies.

Building capability and awareness of clinical advice across DSS through training, tools, and support.

Providing strategic advice and guidance to senior leaders on high and complex, clinical and legal matters.

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification in a legal or clinical discipline, or equivalent experience.

Deep knowledge of the disability and social services sector, including high and complex needs frameworks.

Proven leadership and people management experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Strong understanding of the machinery of government and relevant regulatory and policy settings.

Experience managing critical events and applying forensic frameworks.

Demonstrated successful experience in strategic relationship management and partnership development.

Expertise in clinical and specialist advisory processes and assurance frameworks.

Understanding of disability issues and the ability to build trust and credibility with the disability sector.

Salary range | Utu-a-tau : $161,811.00 - $214,131.00
