Overview
Senior Project Manager - Special Projects (Auckland / Wellington) at Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities.
Responsibilities
Manage and deliver a diverse range of special property maintenance and refurbishment projects.
Apply hands-on building, carpentry or renovation experience to project delivery.
Lead a portfolio of projects sourced outside standard maintenance activities, including remediation of maintenance issues and works that may require council consent, engineers reports and geotechnical reports.
Work with external contractors and / or maintenance partners to deliver projects on time, to budget and in compliance with requirements.
Provide site management for project delivery, with some travel as required.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of proven project management experience in construction or residential property maintenance.
Certified or qualified builder with more than 5 years of experience in residential renovations / refurbishments.
Experience reading architectural designs, engineers reports and building plans.
Tertiary qualification in Project Management / Engineering or similar with proven project management experience (minimum 5 years).
Substantial practical experience in property maintenance or construction.
Contract management and negotiation experience.
Strong stakeholder, contractor and colleague engagement to communicate priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a complex and changing environment; resilient and adaptable.
Up-to-date Project Management certification (e.g., Prince2).
Understanding of all legislative requirements in the construction industry (NZS3604, Healthy Homes Act, etc.).
Current Driver's Licence.
