General Manager Quality Improvement and Risk ManagementDistrict : Wairarapa HospitalLocation : MastertonHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe General Manager Quality Improvement and Risk Management provides senior oversight, vision, leadership and line accountability for enacting the Wairarapa Clinical Governance framework, and for the delivery of robust, fit for purpose quality improvement and risk management frameworks, practices and support for the district.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the General Manager Quality Improvement and Risk will contribute to the overall leadership of the district and has a shared responsibility to drive the Strategic Direction and ensure that the different parts of the district work effectively together to deliver on its commitments.This is a permanent, part-time position working up to 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday or as required.

There is also a requirement to participate on the shared Executive "on-call roster" across a full week, Monday to Sunday.About the LocationWith a largely rural population of almost 50,000 residents, made up of five characterful towns and many rural and coastal communities.

Wairarapa is a vibrant place to live, work and enjoy the range of leisure pursuits and entertainment options available.Learn more about living in the Wairarapa region click hereWairarapaAbout youA relevant tertiary qualificationExperience in an executive / senior leadership role in the health sector.Proven Quality Improvement experience at a senior level.Expertise in Improvement methodology and relevant frameworksExperience in the development and implementation of strategies and plans in a senior leadership role.Proven experience in leading and developing high performing teams.Successful experience supporting or leading multiple projectsBroader knowledge of the wider Health SectorWell-developed understanding of Paerewa Health & Disability Service StandardsWell-developed understanding of patient affairs and enquires, Privacy, HDC, Coroner and ACC investigations, Compliance and Risk programmes and programmes focusing on Clinical excellence and improvementWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
