OverviewThis role leads BNZ's oversight of Resilience Risks, with a focus on Technology Risk, Third Party Risk, and Business Continuity Management.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and subject matter expertise to identify, assess, and monitor resilience-related risks, enabling BNZ to operate within its risk appetite and meet regulatory obligations in a dynamic environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop high-performing teams across Technology Risk, Third Party Risk, and Business Continuity Management, improving efficiency and productivity of the teams.Review effectiveness of risk management practices across BNZ in relation to the area of responsibility and engage with stakeholders to drive uplift.Review and challenge proposals and practices that impact the risk profile with the aim of improving BNZ's risk position and its controls.Provide advice on events and findings related to the above risks and on the uplift and design of effective controls.
Ensure prospective risk appetite breaches, material risks, loss events and deviations from the Risk Management Framework are escalated on a timely basis.Ensure reporting on risks under your control or oversight is accurate and timely, and issues and events are responded to.What attributes will this person display?
Proven experience and examples in uplifting risk management practices and leading high-performing teams.Deep understanding of resilience-related risks in banking, including cyber, data loss, change management, asset management, third-party risk, and business disruption.Familiarity with prudential requirements for technology risk and operational resilience in New Zealand and Australia.Strong analytical skills to measure risk exposure, dissect complex problems, and deliver solutions across diverse stakeholder groups.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Executive Management, Boards, and Regulators.Opportunity and impactThis is a highly visible leadership role, shaping BNZ's response to significant global risks.
