Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Compliance team at Marsh McLennan.

This role can be based anywhere in Australia.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Regulatory Breach Reporting and Compliance Manager (12 month fixed term contract)

At Marsh McLennan, we're bolstering the risk and compliance capability needed to support a future that's resilient, safe, and ready – for our members, our clients, our colleagues, our business partners, and each other.

In a world of constant change, risk and compliance are more than frameworks – they provide the confidence, clarity, and control to act decisively, and do the right thing.

With strong foundations in place, we're focused on growing capability, lifting capacity, and creating a future-ready ecosystem where our colleagues feel supported to step up and speak up.

We don't settle for good enough — we ask what better looks like, every day.

If you're driven by purpose and ready to make an impact, this is your moment.

You'll join a team with momentum, humility, and a deep belief that better decisions start with great colleagues.

We're looking individuals who care about doing what's right, and who want to help shape the next chapter of risk and compliance with us.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Compliance and principally assists Marsh McLennan's Line 2 Compliance function in respect of compliance incidents and breaches to ensure the organisation meets regulatory requirements for relevant regulators.

The role will also provide compliance advice to ensure Marsh McLennan operates in compliance with its policies, procedures and regulatory obligations.

We will count on you to :

Support the Incident and Breach Management frameworks, policies, tools, systems and processes required for the organisation to effectively manage compliance risks.

Undertake compliance assessments of compliance incidents to support the regulatory breach assessment processes.

Present compliance assessments to relevant stakeholders and forums as required.

Assist in the provision of compliance advice, insights, themes, trends to key stakeholders including boards, committees and other forums in relation to incidents and breaches.

Review and monitor compliance with relevant policies.

Provide sound pragmatic advice, guidance and support to business leaders on risk and compliance matters.

Support Risk and Compliance colleagues across Line 1 and Line 2.

Process and Reporting

Prepare (and present as required) concise and meaningful professional risk and compliance reports (including compliance assessments) for management and related Boards and Board sub-committees and other forums as required.

Partner closely with colleagues to drive alignment and consistent implementation of risk and compliance framework accountabilities.

Strategy & People

Actively contribute to the priorities and work plans for the Risk & Compliance function.

Review industry developments and consider impacts on the risk and compliance environment.

What you need to have :

A tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Finance, Risk Management or a related field.

Relevant post graduate and / or professional qualification desirable.

At least 5+ years experience in a similar role or compliance role experience in the financial services (superannuation, investments, financial advice, insurance broking / insurance) industry is desirable.

What makes you stand out :

Strong understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, and the relevant industry codes which impact service offerings and solutions

Excellent project and time management skills.

Ability to understand business issues and adopt a pragmatic risk based approach.

Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage, build rapport and present to management.

Why join our team :

We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders

We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities

Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being
