The Service Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient completion of all assigned production, service and related tasks in accordance with relevant company procedures and instructions.LocationGrenada North WellingtonWhat will your typical day look like?
Conduct the overhaul, repair and modification, troubleshooting, investigations and testing of products in accordance with relevant work instructions, test specifications, drawings, bulletins, production processes, EHS and Quality requirements.Conduct and participate in the troubleshooting of faults, investigations, inspections and new product introduction relevant to production related EHSQ and Technical matters.Ensure all relevant documentation specific to the workshop production tasks and processes are completed accurately and in full.Ensure the working environment, plant, tooling and equipment is always maintained to a safe, clean and orderly condition.Ensure all plant, tooling and equipment has prestart checks and / or preventative maintenance carried out prior to use in accordance with relevant requirements.Willing to work outside or beyond normal working hours to support production requirements.Domestic or International travel may be required.Essential ExperienceCertificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical / Electrical Trade or higher.Two years or more related trade experience in a manufacturing or services environment.Current Driver's license.Welding experience minimum of 2 years.Desirable ExperienceAn understanding of the rail industry framework & related technical issues that arise.Previous experience completing overhaul, repairs and testing to air brake equipment installed on Passenger, Locomotive and Freight rolling stock.Currently Hold or willing to obtain qualifications for – Forklift, Overhead Gantry Crane, First Aid, Fire Warden.About WabtecWabtec Corporation is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail as well as the mining, marine, and industrial markets.
